Water Baby

We had a special visitor at our house last week...Aunt Holly!!  She was in town for work and stayed with us.  Evie loved getting to hang out with her auntie.  I wish I had some pictures from our week :(
We followed Holly home to No. KY and once again we had a great time!  We hung out at Pops and Kiki's house for most of the day.  For dinner we went to Mexican restaurant with Uncle Adam and Aunt Shannon.  So far Evelyn has done great at restaurants and this time was no exception.  She enjoyed the commotion, the music, the colors and the noise.  It also didn't hurt that Uncle Adam kept her entertained and smiling!

After dinner we headed across the river and ventured to the West Side for some swimming at the Uncle Bob and Aunt Lisa's house (Aunt Holly was dog sitting while their family was on vacation).  I wondered how Evie would like the water. She loves her baths and gets great pleasure out of kicking and splashing so I figured she'd do fine....and she did!  She loved the pool!  She splashed and kicked and smiled.  We can't wait until the next time we can go swimming!

Sunday we ventured to Jungle Jims with Kiki, Pops and Uncle Adam.  Evie LOVES grocery stores.  I've been taking her with me to go grocery shopping since she was a month old and she is fascinated by them.  As with restaurants, she loves the colors and sounds.  She also loves how we keep moving in the stores since she always gets to see something new.  She spent the first part of our trip in the stroller and then being held by Pops.  We had a lot of fun and can't wait until our next visit!!

Our Little Miss is 4 months old!

It's hard to believe 4 months have gone by since Evelyn was born.  I feel like I blinked and she went from being a tiny newborn to a chubby, smiling, laughing, kicking, cooing, shrieking, rolling, bubble-blowing, thumbing-sucking baby.  She is changing so fast and we're having a ball watching her grow and learn new things.  She has definitely found her voice and seems to get great pleasure out of screeching, oohing and aahing (to the top of her lungs).  When I sing to her, she will often start cooing while I sing, as if she's singing along with me.  She is learning to have her Mama's love of books.  I read to her every night at bedtime and she enjoys looking at the pictures and smacking the pages with her hands.  She loves to lay on her playmat and play.  She has learned to roll over from her back to her belly and does so often.  We've had a rough couple of weeks since she also does this in the middle of the night and wakes herself up.  She wasn't too keen on being on her belly at first and she can't yet roll back over so we had more than a few nights of fussing until she learned to like being on her belly more.  She definitely become a thumb/finger sucker and is starting to prefer that to her pacifier.  She is chewing on EVERYTHING and has become a little drool machine.  She smiles all the time and has started laughing, especially when we tickle her.  I absolutely LOVE her little giggles.  She is a very engaged little baby and enjoys watching everything around her.  We've taken her to restaurants several times now and she has been so good every time.  She just likes to sit on our laps or in her carseat and watch all the action around her.  She is such a sweet, snuggly little darling and our love for her grows every day!
