38 weeks!

Not much to report.  My weekly doctor’s appt. went well and everything seems good.  Unfortunately, my platelets have not risen (they actually dropped 4 points from the week before).  While this is discouraging, I’m trying not to think about it too much.  My levels are still higher than they were before the steroids and they are not at dangerous low levels so I’m trying to focus on that.  I’m still really hoping for the option of an epidural, but I know that may not be possible.
All the neutral baby clothes we have are clean, blankets and burb cloths are ready to go and we got our first shipment of Size 1 diapers over the weekend.  My parents got us a box of newborn diapers too, but given the size of this baby, we opted to wait before buying more of that size.  Who knows how long they’d fit!  I got a new diaper bag last week that I really like  and we got the car seat all clean and ready to go.  Evie tested it out for us, first with herself and then with her baby doll.  We showed her how she can rock the seat and she did that periodically over the weekend, singing her heart out to her doll.

I’ve been having lots and lots of Braxton Hicks contractions and on Sunday I overdid it a little and my back was really bothering me.  I am really, really hoping that this baby waits until next week to come.  Or at least until Thursday (my doctor’s on-call day at the hospital).  Given my platelet issue, I would feel a lot more comfortable having my own doctor.  But no matter what happens, I know that Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center is a good hospital so everything should be fine.  Fingers crossed!
