Another month has passed by and I’m shocked. How is time passing by so quickly?! My handsome little man is now 7 months
old. He’s a roly-poly baby boy who never
stops moving. He’s pulling up on
everything and we can tell it won’t be long until he’s walking. While we are super-proud of how well he’s
doing, neither Pat nor I would mind it if he slowed down just a little!
Mitchell definitely keeps us on our toes. He’s into everything. Where Evie saw barriers as a baby, he sees only
obstacles that he can go over or around.
He’ll knock down the pillows we put up around the entertainment center
and circumvent the recliner to get to the lamp power cord behind it. He’ll open cabinet doors and overturn the
trash can in the bathroom. While I got
ready for work the other day, he spent his time destroying a paper shopping bag
(and having a grand time I might add). I’m
convinced that we shouldn’t buy him any more toys because he doesn’t care about
any of them. Give him a crumbed up piece
of paper or a plastic Tupperware container and the kid is in heaven.
He’s still not a huge ‘talker’, but he will coo and laugh
and babble a little bit. He’ll say Dada,
but there isn’t any meaning behind it yet (sorry Pat!) He likes blowing raspberries at Evie and Evie
will do it right back at him, which makes him laugh. He loves it if you blow on his belly or
tickle his toes. He is SO ticklish! As home, he’s more vocal than when we go
out. Outside our house, he’s more stoic. He studies everything around him and he’s
usually quiet. He’s not quick to smile
at strangers, and although he has gotten over a lot of his separation anxiety,
he can still get anxious if he’s not with Pat or I. Most of the time, he does fine with other
people and we don’t have any problems, but he’s not quite the social butterfly
the Evie was.Mitch is still doing well with baby food. He’s tried a few more varieties of food, including fresh mashed avocado which he loved. He loves sweet potatoes, peas and mixed vegetables too. The latter two amaze me because we could never get Evie to eat them. I love it that our boy likes his veggies! We’ve tried giving him some puffs, but he hasn’t been interested. We may try a teething biscuit next. Still no teeth, but we think we see the beginning of one poking through on the bottom.
Mitch has had an eventful month. He celebrated his first Christmas and New Year
and met lots of extended family. He
weathered a few colds too, which was hard, but he bounces back fast thank
goodness! Now if we could only get him
to sleep a little better (and a little more)!
We love you Mitchell-Man!
Happy 7 months!
