I never used to think of myself as a nature girl. I’m not much for camping, and while I don’t mind getting my hands a little dirty, I really wish we could just pay someone to take care of our yard. As I’ve gotten older, though, I find myself turning to nature when I need to find some peace. I love walks in the morning and sitting outside in the evening. The beauty and the harmony of nature just speaks to me. I am able to regain my focus and clear my head. I read somewhere that it is impossible to be in bad mood when walking in nature. I’m not sure that is 100% true, but I think if you try to just BE in nature, if you just marvel at the world around you, it can allow you to just put aside your worries for just a little while.
This autumn, I’ve tried to get the kids outside as much as possible. Whether it’s playing at the park or feeding the ducks, we always enjoy it. It’s so nice to just disconnect from technology (minus taking a picture here and there) and just observe and explore and be together.
